Splurging our last photos of that lovely early-morning walk around Boston harbor in mid-August all on this post, given that we’ve since accumulated many photos well suited to this series on two trips to Geneva, plus the usual Amsterdam opportunities and more 🙂
One of the very many pleasures of spending many days on this lovely little island is the ability to quietly watch the light, weather, tides and vibe of the island and its surrounding seas endlessly shift…
Traveling from Portsmouth, NH over to Star Island involves exiting along the Piscataqua River & Bay out to the open ocean, past one of the cooler pulley-elevating bridges I’ve seen as well as two different lighthouses. (The bridge we’ve shown you a few times in previous posts.)
Above, Boston’s waterfront early one morning; below, the coastline across Cape Cod Bay at Provincetown later that day, with the Pilgrim Monument visible in above the dunes.
This scale model of a ship is perhaps the main attraction of Provincetown’s lovely public library, whose exterior we showed you in the last post of this series.
Approach to the Isles of Shoals, with most of them visible and Star Island the one with the while buildings, seen closer up below. Always a joy to get back out there, this year for the first time since before covid. 🙂
