We’re somewhere new, now, and these are the first of many Petra shots that I’ll start posting once I’m back to Amsterdam with time to sort and edit the tons of photos that’ll emerge from this weekend swing to a remarkable place :-).

Paul: How fun that you’re getting to experience Petra. In addition to the amazing cave buildings and striking desert landscape, I remember talking to a Bedouin guide about living in tents. I think of him, as I enjoy sleeping in my own tent on our land here in Wisconsin most of the summer. He said people feel sorry for the Bedouins who live in tents — but the Bedouins feel sorry for people who have to live in buildings… I also remember sitting in on a Spanish language tour on our bus from Eilot to Petra, led by a Palestinian guy who had lived for years in South America. Fun to follow your adventures from afar. Hugs from Wisconsin, Andrew
Holy crap I’m jealous.
