The Coxs Bazaar beach in Bangladesh proudly claims to be the world’s longest sandy beach. So, back on the first day of 2019, I launched the first numbered series with “The Longest Beach” as a way to encourage myself up and out the door on weekend mornings to enjoy it.
As we know, I’ve since added many themed series to help get myself out the door and focused on what I see around me in three dimensions, wherever I happen to find myself in our beautiful, unruly world. So I rarely use Cox beach photos for other series, but I rather love how this set shows so many of the ways people enjoy the beach, especially on weekends: you’ll see folks playing cricket and soccer (football), herders with their cows, a youth riding a pony (tourist pony rides are also a thing), and also of course folks just walking, talking, wading and enjoying the sense of freedom these wide vistas offer.
