Last photo taken on the boat back from Borkum to Emden above, and first photo taken on the boat from Emden to Borkum below – both lookin at the wind farm on the NL side of the river. So many things one can do with coastlines, eh?
Good that you did your trip when you did, because a week ago a freighter called the Freemantle Highway had an accident around there, started burning and tipping, and ultimately had to be pulled into Eemshaven, on the other side of the Ems from Emden. This could have been an ecological disaster. Looks like the situation has stabilized now.
