Hail the friendly spider. I remember the autumn in Los Angeles when I had my duster out to get rid of some cobwebs. It occurred to me mid-swipe that soon I would be putting out fake cobwebs for Halloween. Septembers since then have found my abode strewn with webs. Alas, this month I have discovered elaborate webs blocking my path to some important area of my yard–the hose bib, for instance. I’ve tried to be considerate of the effort it takes to create a web, but sometimes I have to barge through. The spider gets right to work on repairs. It’s not easy being a spider! Jean
