More from our August outing to Star Island, which we’ve been sharing with you off and on since our first visit there (as an adult) in 2009. These photos were taken less than 75 minutes apart – above looking at the solar array around 7:48, below, gulls on the roof of the generator house around 9 the same morning, presumably as I was heading back for more sits after breakfast.
Penang Island from the mainland: above, as seen on 29th of November as we neared our landing; below, as seen during my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Yangon on the 6th of December.
Parc Royal in Brussels again – I didn’t get to the royal palace in KL, nor did I even remember to take out my camera to photograph the royal customs sign at the KL airport on my way out. I must get myself with camera to one of the many royal palaces in NL soon, or this cute little series will run dry…
This was my first Irish rainbow, after we’d driven from the airport in Dublin out to our hotel near Galway, dropped our stuff, then headed in for a walk around downtown Galway. We parked at the cathedral parking lot, the rain started, we began walking over the salmon weir bridge and the sun poked out to create a welcoming rainbow. Typical Ireland, it seems 🙂
Some views of late-summer dawn over Gosport Harbor, taken from Star Island and showing both Cedar Island and a part of Smuttynose Island as well. A small celebration of the fact that at home in northern Europe, we’ve nearly reached that yearly solstice corner where the number of minutes each day on which the sun is above our horizon will start increasing again, for the next six months at least 🙂
