I’ve been leaning on these cascade shots from the mountains north of Erbil to sustain most of my “Country Canals” posts for more than long enough, so herewith the last of those photos as a means to spur myself further outside the city limits of Amsterdam to where I might again photograph something that could more legitimately be described as a country canal in the near future, or risk needing to let this series sleep until I do so 🙂
After Hamburg (often lovingly abbreviated to HH, so expect that in future…) we spent a lovely evening and overnight on the westernmost German island of Borkum, in its lovely main town / village of the same name. After last year’s Texel outing, we’re curious to explore more of these islands off the North Sea coastlines of both NL and DE, so with any luck there’ll be more from these islands in future.
We spent a few nights and days in Hamburg with friends last week, enjoying lovely ballet performances at night and the sights of the city during the day.
The first of many photos we’ll be sharing from Paleis Het Loo, a national museum and royal palace in eastern NL. Interesting concept, royal palaces in a democracy, eh? 🙂
Looking west from California’s central valley towards Snow Mountain Wilderness & the various reservoirs and natural lakes on the eastern slopes and foothills of that range of mountains, not long after my last take-off from SF in early April.
