Urban Canals.153

Point 1: I realized to my chagrin that I skipped this series in the last number cycle, so we’re catching up; Point 2: The oldest canals have been collapsing bit by bit, so the city of A’dam has a massive multi-year budget to slowly shore them up, since the center city’s canals and streets are so old that they were never built for the sheer volume of tourists, buses, cars, etc that load the roads alongside them now – this being an example of the repairs on one canal in the heart of the old city.

Village Views.64

They’re for grain storage – saw lots in the little villages we passed through on the road in my last trip to Nigeria. Also a fair number of these guys below, both carrying loads on the road, and lying around eating, as you see here :-).

Coasting.84

I’ve realized I’ll never find time to sort and post all my photos from this year unless I start doing more old-style gallery posts. Those of you viewing these on phones and small screens – apologies in advance that you’ll miss some photos most likely as the display for the galleries on small screens is pretty bad. These are all from my first morning walk around the dunes at Provincetown on the day after I took the ferry out – we showed you photos from that trip in a prior post.

Small Wonders.214

You’ve seen this water lily in a previous post with a different focus and frame 🙂
