Yes, those photos were taken around 21:45 / 9:45pm in the park closest to where I’ve been living since I landed here in Amsterdam on Monday. What the photos can’t convey is how lively the scene was. This wasn’t an organized event — simply tons of folks out enjoying the evening of a long and lovely sunny summer’s day, with music and picnics, dancing and drink and lots of conversations. I enjoyed a long walk through the park, carefully noting what time it finally became harder to read my watch. It was well after 10:15. Toto, we’re not in northern California any more…
We’ll bounce around in locations the next couple weeks: I’m clearing a backlog of photos from trips on the west coast, east coast and midwest of the US … then at some point you’ll start seeing posts from Amsterdam again. Bear with me, and if you’re curious what you’re looking at, load the full version of the site and check the “categories” and “tags” notes at the bottom of each entry.
